I’m An Office Supplies Junkie! Are You, Too?

I’m An Office Supplies Junkie! Are You, Too?

I absolutely love office supplies. When I enter an office supply store or a supply closet in a workplace, it’s like opening gifts on Christmas Day! The bright colors of sticky notes and highlighters, the smell of fresh paper and plastic wrappers, and the excitement of so many options is just downright exhilarating (and no, it’s not the liquid paper fumes that make me feel this way). 🙂

Yeah, I know- I’m not normal. What can I say? Everyone has their “thing.” Right? And for me it’s gel inks, finger moisteners, lumbar supports, calculators, etc. So, what’s a girl to do when she can’t stop thinking about office supplies? Start a blog!

I am right there with you!! I actually have been putting off a trip to Staples (goodie, goodie) because I want to have plenty of time to just walk around and look. I used to feel like I needed to purchase everything I enjoyed looking at, but now, I limit myself to some of my “favorite” things. I do try to give myself a reasonable spending limit, too.

I try not to buy certain things like “post it” notes. The reason is because I don’t really use them a lot. I don’t work in an environment where I can use them. I have searched for reasons to buy them because I LOVE the ones with designs and different shapes! I actually saw where post-it notes were used as a temporary border around a room once. They alternated the colors and made them look like tile. It was a cool application.

I’m trying to justify the purchase of every color of duct tape–LOL. http://www.ducktapeclub.com/ducktivities/ I was just in Wal-Mart and noticed all the different colors, and I just KNEW there had to be a “use” for it.

I’m not as crazy about paper clips (except those nice clippy ones–love those in all sizes). I adore pens, but typically only have one that I use regularly. It’s that “special” pen that makes you write better and more creative. It’s a crazy phenomenon, but there has to be some correlation between the comfort of a pen and a person’s writing ability. My present fav is the Parker “Jotter” pen. http://www.officeworld.com/Worlds-Biggest-Selection/PAR1736845/09Q1/ It’s very reasonably priced about $6, which is important to me because if it’s ever lost or stolen ;-), I can cost effectively replace it.

I’d like to add your site to my blog. Are you planning to continue with this topic?

I have a total addiction to office supplies, namely pens. I make very regular trips to staples and spend way too much money on various pens. I love index cards too. This is a great blog.
