25 Mar Smens and Smencils- Smelly and Environmentally-Friendly Pens and Pencils!
When I was a little kid, around 9 or 10 years old, there were these cute, self-refilling pencils that all of us kids just loved. You couldn’t find them at the local drug store or school supply stores, you’d have to go the local flea market or beg your friend for one of theirs (or if desperation got the best of you, you might even swipe one from your friend), because they were typically imported from Asia and not initially sold by major retailers .
These pencils were popular because they different than your standard #2 pencil. When these pencils ran out of lead, you just pulled out the little plastic cartridge and slid it into the bottom of the barrel and Presto! A new refill would pop right up! But what really made these pencils so fun wasn’t just the refill process, it was the fact that they often had a cute design theme and sometimes even smelled like cherry, lemon and other assorted scents.
Smencils bring back all of these childhood memories for me.
Made from tightly wound recycled newspaper wrapped around a graphite or an ink core, Smencils and Smens are soaked in various scents ranging from root beer to watermelon and are guaranteed to smell for 2 years. Not only do Smencils and Smens smell great, but they are environmentally-friendly. You can even make Smencils at home with their Smencils Home Kits and Mini Kits!
