Desk Stash Subscription Box Reveal

Desk Stash Subscription Box Reveal

play-sharp-fill

Although I love office supplies, I rarely subscribe to subscription boxes. Maybe it’s because in the past  I’ve ended up with a hodge podge of random supplies that sit in one of many drawers or other hideaway spots in my office, unused and rarely admired. But when I got a chance to enter to win one of Desk Stash’s subscription boxes I decided to enter. I mean who doesn’t like free stuff, right?

So a few weeks ago I picked up some mail and surprise, surprise my Desk Stash delivery was there. (This was during the height of social distancing, so all items from the outside world were even more greatly appreciated, especially office supplies.) After a few days I finally got around to checking out what all was inside. And let me first say I was happy to find that everything was packaged nicely and nothing had broken or spilled. This is always a concern with subscription boxes, so that test was passed. Inside I found all of the following items.

The first thing that caught my eye was the Midori Space Etching E Clips. I love almost everything to do with astronomy, so these were perfect for me. The 16 piece stainless steel set includes Jupiter, astronauts, space shuttles, and Earth. Each clip holds about 10 sheets of copier paper.

The packaging of Fred’s Think Again Eraser  eraser is charming. I like the whole, old school, specimen in a jar feel, and actually have had this on my desk since I opened the box.

The Scotch Magic Tape Dispenser Record Player tape dispenser is a fun nostalgia piece. It’s a really nice inclusion for a subscription box and likely the most expensive and hard to find item I would think.

I let my daughter put together the Fred Happy Camper Pencil Holder. It’s another really cute nostalgia piece, but it was a little too big to sit on my desk, but at the same time too small and short to hold enough pencils and pens for me. So it’s another piece that I relegated to stay on display on my bookshelf. It makes me want to go camping in Yellowstone every time I look at it. 🙂

The Ooly Six Click Gel Pen was a really nice surprise. I’ve found that most multi color pens are sucky for a number of reasons, the main one being that the refills tend to wiggle in the pen barrel when you write, and I’m also not a big fan of ballpoint pens, which multi pens most often are. But this pen solved both of those issues. Each of the color refills fit snuggly in the barrel of the pen, the ink was gel (love it, love it) and super smooth, and it had six colorful options versus the usual four basic go-to’s: black, blue, red and green.

When I opened the Knock Knock This Week Sticky Roll, I immediately wanted to wrap my daughter in it. 26 ft of tape might finally do the trick in helping her to remember her chores and other things that she incessantly and sometimes remarkably forgets to do. Seriously though, this will work well for my desk since it’s glass and I like that it’s re-positionable.

I’ll finally be putting the Knock Knock Information Central Mousepad to use this week. It’ll be perfect for jotting down to-do’s and forget-me-not’s in one place and not losing them. I find that I use a million Post-Its and often can’t find them when I need them most. So at least using this I have a nice mousepad and I can’t forget where I jotted something down. The only possible downside I’m noticing is that it’s going to be a thick mousepad until I use a substantial number of pages, but ergonomically it may all work out- we’ll see!

And yup, I’ve even used the Emergen-C.  I think I ran several errands one day and wanted to give my immune system as much of an added boost as I could,  so I drank one of them. I have to say they are not the tastiest product, but in today’s world I must admit it was nice to have a couple on had, especially when finding products like these can be so hard.

All in all, I think this was a good subscription box, especially a starter one. I think there was at least two items that would appeal to office supplies fan, whether you’re a nostalgic or retro office supply buff, a desk trinket or gadget lover, or a stationery fan. I can wait to see what the next box holds.
