Normal people carry around purses, wallets, and day bags.  But I’m not normal, in case you hadn’t noticed. Now you see me, I carry around my purse (a BIG one) and my rolling computer bag wherever I go, if I’m going to be gone for longer than a few hours.

I can’t help it. I just can’t imagine being caught without my computer (or something to read) for longer than a few hours. That would mean I’d be (gasps)- idle-and that just won’t do. Now don’t get me wrong, just because I bring it doesn’t mean that I’ll necessarily use it. I guess I’m kind of like  Linus with his blanket, having my computer with me is security; it just feels good to know that it’s there.

So if you’re like me and carry your laptop around frequently, then I’m sure its security is a concern for you. Well thanks to the good folks over at Kensington, you and I can breathe a little easier with the help of the Kensington Microsaver Computer Lock.  The Microsaver is an alarmed computer lock with an audible alarm. It features:

  • A 6 foot aircraft-grade steel cable
  • An alarm that can be heard up to 50 feet away
  • A patented T-bar lock
  • A 1-year limited warranty and tech support

The Kensington Microsaver Computer Lock weighs a little over a pound and retails for $54.99, but I’ve seen it at several retailers, both online and in-store for less. I think it’s a great investment for those who frequent cafes, coffee shops, libraries and other public places where someone could potentially swipe your laptop, especially with the holidays fast approaching.
